This week marked the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Residents watched the services on the TV and reminisced … not quite believing it’s been 75 years!! They have also been working on some commemorative artwork with Creative Mojo (https://www.facebook.com/creativemojochichesterandhavant/), and enjoyed singing together some wartime and patriotic songs with Miranda’s Music (https://www.facebook.com/mirandasvintagemusic/)
We had a lovely visit from Hampshire Happy Hens (www.hampshirehappyhens.co.uk) Monday afternoon. Two very happy and content hens came in for cuddles, and two very happy, friendly humans came in and told us some very interesting facts about chickens. They left the information with us so we can test the residents on what they learned before […]
Some of our residents miss being able to get outside in their own gardens so asked if we could have some gardening sessions included in our entertainment. So, today we had our first potting session! One lady hadn’t done gardening before and even said “I couldn’t think of anything worse” … but still got stuck […]
We will be holiday an evening of fireworks and food on Monday 5 November at 5:30pm. All welcome!
All are invited to join us for our Garden Party on 14 July. There will be plenty of food, music from a brass band, displays of the residents’ art work that they’ve been doing with Creative Mojo, and lots of prayers for sunshine!
We’ve celebrated two very important birthdays this last month. One resident has turned 100 in May and had a lovely party held by the local church and he even appeared in the paper! He thoroughly enjoyed his time. Another resident turned 103 this week! When we asked her if she knew how old she was […]
Residents and staff loved watching the Royal Wedding over the weekend. We had to turn down the invitation to London for the evening party as it would have made us miss bed time, but we celebrated with a very British high tea instead. Congratulations Harry and Megan!
We hope you all had a lovely Easter. We had a very exciting experience this year with some special little visitors. “Incredible Eggs” delivered six little duck eggs on the 27 March and by 29 March they had all hatched and we had six little fluffy ducklings to look after! We got to look after them […]
One of our regular entertainers, Dr Pepper, visited on Thursday and got us in the spirit for St Patrick’s day with some Irish music. The lounge was full of singing, dancing and, as you can see, some fun outfits! Everyone was exhausted afterwards and just wanted to relax in their rooms with a whisky!! […]
